Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos has revealed his desire to become a coach someday.

What's the story?

Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos has revealed his ambition to coach a football club once he retires from the sport.

In case you didn't know...

Ramos has emerged as a legend at the Bernabeu and one of the best defenders in modern football. Since he was given the captain's armband in 2015, the Spaniard has led Los Blancos to three consecutive Champions League titles.

Despite being a defender, Ramos has netted 80 goals for Real Madrid and 17 for his home country so far. This season, he has found the net an impressive ten times in all competitions for the European champions.

The heart of the matter

Ramos has now revealed his desire to move into a coaching role once he hangs up his boots, in an interview with El Hormiguero (via Marca).

When asked if he would like to coach someday, the Spaniard replied, "It's something I would like."

"It feels good when I talk to my teammates. I advise people, I'm a leader and captain. It's something similar to what coaches do."

The Blancos captain also spoke about the club's crisis early in the season and insists that Madrid are still very much in the competition for the treble: "We're going to challenge for everything."

"The Champions League, LaLiga Santander and the Copa del Rey. Now, we have to play well and Madrid are in sensational form."

What's next?

Real Madrid currently sits at third place in the Spanish league table, eight points away from arch-rivals Barcelona, who are at the top.

The European champions will look to avenge their 5-1 Clasico defeat last year as they are scheduled to face Barcelona in the first leg of the Copa del Rey semi-final later tonight.
