Do you remember UEFA Champions League’s famous post from last year, when they shared a video of Lionel Messi watching the tournament after Barcelona were knocked out? Well in UCL’s case lightning does strike twice.

In what has turned out to be an internet sensation, a tweet from UEFA Champions League account seems to have gone viral. The tweet shows an image of Old Trafford with the several Champions League footballs floating in the air
But as we all know United have ‘voluntarily’ decided not to take part in this tournament, a fact that seems to have slipped their mind when they tweeted this. Whether this was intentional or not still remains to be the major question.
The club failed to qualify for the UCL this season because they finished 5th in the league last year.
Here is a screenshot of the tweet in question
The tweet has now been deleted by their account, and it really does seem to be a mistake, or the higher-ups saw it, told the guy in charge to delete it and then gave him his marching orders.
The culprit behind this ‘unintentional’ troll could be a Manchester City or even a Liverpool fan, who knows? Just to refresh your memory, the clubs from the Premier League this year in the UCL, are Leicester City, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City.
What a time to be an EPL fan amirite?
