Striker Luis Suarez has praised his Barcelona teammates and the other 2 pieces of the MSN trio – Argentinian captain Lionel Messi and Brazilian forward Neymar Jr. in an interview with the club’s official TV channel. He talked about the mutual admiration between the triumvirate and explained the reason behind their success.

He stressed on a number of occasions about the importance of humility in the team and respecting each other.

“We don’t get tired of saying that on and off the field we get on really well. Nobody thinks he is better than the other, that’s really important. We are here for the team, rather than individuals, so we are just enjoying that. Everybody is enjoying the moment we are in. Everytime one or the other scores or creates a goal, we are happy for the team,” said the 28-year-old.

He admitted that Leo is the best player in the world and that Neymar is a close No. 2, but he clarifies that neither player thinks they are better than their teammates.

Suarez gave a glowing review of Neymar by saying, “I think as a player he (Neymar) is just below Leo, who is No. 1. Neymar is learning from him. He knows that Leo is a great reference point. He is showing what a great player he is game by game. He is doing different things each game. In some games, he will be the best player in the world.

“Off the field, he is a great person. He is really happy, he is a good teammate; He is smartest as well. Leo as well.”

The Uruguayan went on to praise Messi by calling him his ‘inspiration’.

“The whole world knows what I think about him (Messi). He is the best player in the world. He inspires me on the field. Just pure admiration. And off the field, he is a bit shy. He is a bit different off the field because he is a teammate of ours and he always treats us well and he always makes me feel included.”

“Defending the Champions League is our objective”

On being asked about defending the Champions League they won last season, something which no team in the world has been able to achieve, Suarez admitted that it is the team’s objective to become the first club to do it and backed the team’s ability to do the same.

“Winning the Champions League 2 years in a row is really difficult. Nobody has ever done it and that’s our objective,” he added. “We want to be the best team in the world, we have got the ability to do it. We want to keep on the winning path and enjoy it.”

In the video, he went on to talk about how Aleix Vidal and Arda Turan used their initial six months at the club to adapt to life at Barca. Admitting that Malaga cause them problems, Suarez said that the team has to be aware of their weekend opponents.
