Lucie Safarova is enjoying a great summer after reaching the semifinals at Wimbledon just over a month ago. She has reached the last 16 in New York for the first time in her career and will look to advance to the quarterfinals. Standing in her way though, is Shuai Peng of China, who has shown incredible form this week.
The Chinese girl took out Agnieszka Radwanska in the second round and followed it up by ousting Italian Roberta Vinci in the third round.

17-year old Belinda Bencic is having a dream run at this year’s US Open. The Swiss youngster accounted for Angelique Kerber in her third round encounter and will look to overhaul her fancied opponent Jelena Jankovic in the fourth round.

Maria Sharapova was clinical in her straight sets win over Sabine Lisicki in the third round. The Russian will face former World No. 1 Caroline Wozniacki as she attempts to reach the quarterfinals in New York.
After losing a set in her first round against Magdalena Rybarikova, Wozniacki won her second and third encounters in straight sets. The Danish tennis ace has a tough proposition ahead of her in Sharapova whom she trails 2-5 in her career thus far.
