During the 2022 playoffs, he was key for the Maple Leafs in their series against the Tampa Bay Lightning, appearing in all seven games. Though the team was defeated, he was praised for his performance.

Since rejoining Toronto, Ilya Lyubushkin has tallied four assists in 19 regular-season games and one in three postseason games.

Ilya Lyubushkin and Leafs failed to win Game 3 against Bruins

In a Game 3 matchup between the Boston Bruins and the Toronto Maple Leafs, Brad Marchand emerged as the hero for the Bruins.

Breaking a tie midway through the third period, Marchand's goal helped Boston grab a 4-2 victory, giving them a 2-1 series lead. Marchand's performance included the game-winning goal, an empty-netter and an assist.

Toronto coach Sheldon Keefe expressed frustration over what he perceived as preferential treatment for Marchand by the officials.

“The gamesmanship and everything, it’s world class,” Keefe said

Despite Toronto's efforts, including a tying goal by Todd Bertuzzi late in the third period, they couldn't overcome Boston's resilience. In addition, Jake DeBrusk scored a goal with Jeremy Swayman stopping 28 crucial shots for the Bruins' victory.

Toronto had a poor power play, going 0 for 5, which resulted in 1 for 11 in the whole series. Their inability to capitalize on these opportunities proved costly.

Game 4 is on Saturday at 8 p.m. ET in Scotiabank Arena.
