“My grandmother could swing harder than that”: NHL community reacts to Predators’ Smash the Car’ fan activity ahead of game against Canucks

This postseason, the Nashville Predators have engaged in a number of fan activities. Ahead of tonight’s game three versus the Vancouver Canucks, Predators fans got a chance to participate in the Smash Car presented by Crushr activity.

The event consists of hitting a car painted in Canucks’ colors, with participants getting a chance in exchange for a donation to the Preds Foundation.

While the activity was a “smashing” success, it drew fan reactions to the less-than-stellar efforts of some of the Predators’ fans.

One fan tweeted this hilarious comment:

But that wasn’t the only one. Check out this other fan’s comment:

Here’s another funny comment from one user:

"Disappointing. We would have had this car on Fire by now"

They kept poking fun at the Preds' fans. These users expect Vancouver to take tonight's matchup.

This fan opined on the matter:

"They gonna need to smash something when the #Canucks beat them."

This fan didn’t hold back and said:

"Those might be the weakest swings I’ve ever witnessed."

But not all comments trolled the Preds Nation. Plenty of fans support the event, cheering others on.

One fan showed their support for the participants by posting:

"Aaahahaha CaSucks… awesome! Let’s gooooo!"

Nashville Predators launch fan hype activities this postseason

The Predators have engaged in fan activities this postseason before each game. The first set of activities was launched earlier this month when the Predators clinched a playoff spot.

For games one and two against the Canucks, fans took part in the Bud Light Official Watch Party. The event took place at the Preds’ arena as the team opened the postseason on the road. Fans got a chance to catch live music, get drinks, and participate in ticket and prize giveaways.

With the series shifting to Nashville for games three and four, fans got a chance to participate in the Playoff Plaza Party, including the Smash Car event. Fans will get another “swing” at the Smash Car event before game four. Proceeds from the Smash Car events go to charity.

Fan activities are yet to be announced for games five, six, and seven, as there is no indication that the series will get that far. Fans will get another crack at the Smash Car event if the series goes to six games.

At least, Preds fans will have a chance before game four to redeem their lackluster swings. But the team’s fan base would much rather have their team pound the Canucks on the scoreboard.
