Cam Johnson

Cameron Jordan Johnson, born 3 March 1996 is an American Basketball player in the NBA. He has the ability to space the floor for any team and would be helpful in many ways for an offensive set.

Cam Johnson is currently playing for the Brooklyn Nets after getting traded this offseason. He turned down a four-year, 72 million dollar contract from the Phoenix Suns. The 6’8” wing who's shooting 40 per cent from three and has played solid defence will command top dollar. Cam may not be the most consistent but he is definitely a great supporting player for any team.

Johnson got a contract renewal of $108 million for 4 years from the Nets.

In high school, Cam was a point guard graduating from Old Lady of the Sacred Heart. He joined Pittsburgh after graduating from high school. His college career began with an injury causing him to mostly sit out for rehabilitation. He transferred to North Carolina after his three-year graduation and because of this, he didn't have to sit out for the transfer season. His time at North Carolina was the most successful as he was injury free and could show his potential to the world.

Johnson's professional career as an NBA rookie was also not very orthodox as he was drafted by the Minnesota Timberwolves in 2019 but got traded immediately to the Phoenix Suns. He had his professional start in 2020 and played for the Suns till the end of the 2023 season.

Cam Johnson Position

Cam Johnson plays as a power forward and small forward. He has a height of 6 ft 8 inches and a wingspan of 6 ft 10. Johnson is decent from the line and can help a team with his scoring potential, screens and his pick and roll play.

Cam has reached the 2021 NBA finals with the Phoenix Suns, they were up against the Milwaukee Bucks in best of 7 series. While the Suns had Devin Booker and Chris Paul in the roster they were unable to seal the deal against the Bucks. Giannis Antetokounmpo and his team were the champions that season. For sophomore Cameron Johnson though, reaching the playoff finals in his rookie season was a big accomplishment and an all-time milestone in his career.

Cam Johnson Number

Cameron Johnson is currently wearing the number #2 for the Brooklyn Nets. He wore the number #23 while playing for the Phoenix Suns in his rookie year.

So far in his career, Cameron Johnson has shown that he can be a great supporting player for any team he plays in and if given the right amount of play time and coaching he can mature into an important asset for the Nets.

The Nets was a team that had three All-stars in their roster namely James Harden, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant. This was a team that had a stacked roster but was yet to make an impact in the playoffs.

Now, their roster may not be the most stacked in the league. They have players like Spencer Dinwiddie, and Mikal Bridges who is also a former teammate of Johnson. They were players that came off the bench and kept their team in the game. These players along with Cameron have now been given the chance to start for the team and lead the team. They are definitely proving just how impactful they can be if given the opportunity.
