The 6-foot-4 shooting guard, Cam Spencer, played for multiple basketball programs during his college years. He played for the Loyola Greyhounds until his junior year before transferring to Rutgers for his senior year, and then to UConn for an additional senior year due to COVID-19.

After a slow start and injury issues in his first two years with the Greyhounds, Spencer found his rhythm in his junior year. He started all 30 games and averaged 18.9 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 2.3 steals while his shooting efficiency also increased. He was named in the first-team All-Patriot League for his performances. He then decided to enter the transfer protocol and joined Rutgers for his senior year.

During his time at Rutgers in the Big Ten Conference, Spencer faced stronger and more organized programs. Despite this, he averaged 13.2 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 2.0 steals per game. His shooting splits were 44.4% on 9.9 attempts from the field, 43.4% on 4.9 attempts from deep, and 89.4% on 2.5 free throw attempts from the line.

The guard took advantage of the extra year of eligibility and joined the Huskies. He went on to win the NCAA championship while being named to the NCAA All-Tournament and All-Region teams. He averaged 14.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.5 steals per game while shooting 44.0% from deep on 5.6 attempts per game. He led the team in steals and three-pointers made. During his time on the court, the Huskies had an offensive rating of 139.4, the highest on the roster.

According to the latest results of the NBA Draft combine, Cam Spencer has a wingspan of 6 feet 5 inches and a standing reach of 8-feet 2.50 inches.

In the official 2024 NBA Draft combine scrimmages on day 1, Spencer played 21 minutes and recorded five points, three assists and five rebounds. On day 2, Spencer played 13 minutes and recorded five points, two rebounds and one assist while shooting 2-3 from the field.
