Cameron Payne is an American basketball player who plays as a point guard/shooting guard for the New York Knicks in the NBA as of May 2025. He was selected by the Oklahoma City Thunder with the 14th overall pick in the first round of the 2015 NBA Draft. Drafted by the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2015, Payne has played for seven NBA teams, including the Phoenix Suns, Chicago Bulls, Oklahoma City Thunder, New York Knicks, Milwaukee Bucks, Philadelphia 76ers, and Cleveland Cavaliers, and has made the playoffs seven times. Payne has played in 477 games, averaging 7.8 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game as of May 2025.

Cameron Payne attended Lausanne Collegiate School in Memphis, Tennessee. As a senior, he averaged 20 points, 10 assists, and 4 rebounds, helping his team win the Tennessee 2A Private School championship with a 25-4 record. He was also named Mr. Basketball. Cameron Payne played college basketball for Murray State University. He made his college debut on November 8, 2013, scoring 21 points, the second-best debut in Murray State history. He averaged 16.8 points, 3.6 rebounds, 5.4 assists, and 1.8 steals per game as a freshman, and saw himself accumulate nine Ohio Valley Conference Freshman of the Week awards, a record for Murray State. He was also named the OVC Freshman of the year with a place on the All-OVC First Team.

In his second year of college, Payne was named Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Year after averaging 20.2 points, 6 assists, 3.7 rebounds, and 1.9 steals per game.
