Born on October 29, 1992, in Saint-Maurice, Val-de-Marne, France, Evan Fournier is a professional basketball player known for his shooting ability. He plays for the Detroit Pistons as a shooting guard / small forward in the NBA. Fournier’s love for basketball was inspired by the 2001-02 Sacramento Kings team.

Evan Fournier made a name for himself in the French league and the European Championship before entering the NBA Draft. He helped the French Under-18 team win silver in the European Under-18 championship and the French Under-20 team to win Bronze in the European Under-20 championship. He also won French League Best Young Player and French League Most Improved Player twice in consecutive years, in 2011 and 2012. He was an LNB All-Star in 2012.

Evan Fournier is an integral part of the French Men's basketball team. He helped his team win bronze in the FIBA Basketball World Cup twice, in 2014 and 2019. He led his team to win bronze and silver medals in EuroBasket 2015 and 2022 respectively. He represented the French team in the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics and helped them finish runner-up and win silver.

He played for the Orlando Magic from 2014 to 2021 and continuously averaged over 12 points every year. He was later traded to the Boston Celtics but missed several games due to the NBA’s COVID-19 health and safety protocols. He was later acquired by the New York Kicks in a sign-and-trade deal with the Boston Celtics. He played for the Knicks till 2024, after which he was traded to the Denver Nuggets.
