He is a professional basketball player from the United States who plays for the Orlando Magic in the NBA as of November 2024. With a height of 6 feet 5 inches (1.96 meters) and weighing 204 pounds (93 kilograms), Caldwell-Pope takes on roles as shooting guard and small forward. He started his basketball journey at Greenville High School, where he earned recognition as a McDonald's All-American before committing to play at the University of Georgia for college basketball. During his sophomore season there, he was honored as the SEC Player of the Year and achieved first-team All-SEC status.

In the 2013 NBA Draft, he was picked eighth overall by the Detroit Pistons. Throughout his career in professional basketball, he has also played for teams such as the Los Angeles Lakers, Washington Wizards, and Denver Nuggets. Notably, he won NBA championships with the Lakers in 2020 and in 2023 with the Denver Nuggets.

The injury occurred when Caldwell-Pope jammed his shoulder coming off a screen early in the first quarter. He played just four minutes before leaving the game and did not return.

An MRI confirmed the strain, and Caldwell-Pope was ruled out. From January 13, 2017, to January 22, 2017, he missed 4 games. According to Basketball Reference, he returned to play on January 23, 2017, in a match against the Sacramento Kings.

Ankle (January 2021)

In January 2021, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope suffered a mild left ankle sprain during a game against the San Antonio Spurs on January 1, 2024, as per the NBA.

The injury occurred when Caldwell-Pope came down awkwardly on his ankle after a drive to the rim in the third quarter. He was immediately taken out of the game and did not return.
