Kobe Bufkin is an American basketball player who plays as a backup shooting guard for the Atlanta Hawks. The 2023/24 season was Bukin’s rookie season.


Hailing from Grand Rapids, Michigan, Bufkin began playing basketball at Grand Rapids Christian High School in his hometown. This is where he started rooting for the Michigan Wolverines, and his dream soon became a reality when he joined the college program in 2021.


Upon transitioning to professional basketball with the Atlanta Hawks, Bufkin embraced a role as a backup guard behind the formidable duo of Trae Young and Dejounte Murray. Additionally, he also gained valuable experience with the Hawks' NBA G League affiliate the College Park Skyhawks.


It was during his time with the Skyhawks that Bufkin truly showcased his offensive capabilities. Across 14 appearances for the College Park Skyhawks, Bufkin averaged an impressive 23.6 points, 5.9 assists, 5.4 rebounds, and 1.4 steals, with four outings of 30 points or more.


Upon getting recalled to the Hawks' main roster, Bufkin has displayed potential to be a great two-way guard in the coming seasons.
