The LA Lakers are one of the most storied franchises in the history of the NBA. Winning 17 championships, the Lakers have established themselves as the league's pre-eminent and gold standard. Every player who has played in the NBA has always dreamed of donning the purple and gold and playing at the iconic Staples Center (now Crypto.com Arena).

The Lakers truly have some of the greatest names to ever play the game for them, such as Kobe Bryant, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Magic Johnson, Shaquille O’Neal, LeBron James, James Worthy, and many more. And with such all-time greats on the team, it is an incredible feat to be the leading scorer for the Lakers. That iconic feat belongs to none other than the great Kobe Bryant.

After a disappointing 2021-22 season, the Lakers bounced back in the 2022-23 season, reaching the Conference Finals. This gives Lakers fans a lot of hope heading into the next season and fans are hoping for a title push in 2024. This offseason, they have added Gabe Vincent, Taurean Prince, and Christian Wood and have re-signed Rui Hachimura and fan favorite Austin Reaves. With a well-rounded team, sky's the limit for the Lakers.

LA Lakers Leading Scorer

Kobe Bryant is the LA Lakers’ all-time scorer. An iconic figure projecting the mamba mentality both on and off the court, Bryant has been so important for the league that the story of basketball cannot be told without mentioning Kobe Bryant.

With 33,643 points, Kobe Bryant stands alone as the leading scorer for the Los Angeles Lakers. With a wide array of shots — layups, mid-range, threes, post-ups, Kobe had it all. Every single night, he stepped out on the basketball with only one intention, to put the ball in the hoop. And there are few who did it better than him.

Bryant was a Laker for life and he won two scoring titles as a part of the team. With five championships, two finals MVPs, and an MVP, Kobe has had an all-time great career.

LA Lakers second leading scorer: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar

The second all-time leading scorer in the history of the league rightfully holds the second spot as the second all-time leading scorer for the Lakers. With the unguardable skyhook, Abdul-Jabbar was a nightmare to defend. Abdul-Jabbar along with Magic Johnson formed the star-studded tandem of the iconic ‘Showtime Lakers’ in the 90s.

With Johnson running the point, he always looked to find his big man, and Abdul-Jabbar delivered. With 24,716 points as a Laker, Abdul-Jabbar has been etched in Laker lore as one of the greats. He helped the Lakers win five championships, and won a Finals MVP too. While he was recently surpassed by LeBron James as the all-time leading scorer, it will be long before James touches his Laker scoring record.
