Luka Doncic, popularly known as “Luka Magic” is a Slovenian basketball prodigy who plays for the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA. He is widely considered to be one of the finest players and the future face of the league.


Docic hails from Ljubljana and started his journey with basketball at the Union Olimpija before taking his talents to Real Madrid’s youth academy. During his time at Madrid, he was recognized to be a star in the making, being the youngest player on the team at the age of 16. Docic led the team at a very young age to win the EuroLeague and claim for himself the EuroLeague MVP.


Doncic declared for the NBA draft in 2018 and was drafted as the first overall pick by the Atlanta Hawks who traded him to the Dallas Mavericks. Doncic made an undeniable impact on the team from his rookie year which saw him winning the Rookie of the Year award. Over the years, Doncic has earned multiple accolades for himself among which are multiple All-NBA team honors and All-Star selections. Doncic is now competing for the NBA title as he looks to carry the Mavericks past the Oklahoma City Thunder in the Western Conference semifinals.

Luka Doncic Conference Finals Record

The Dallas Mavericks leader has made it to the Conference Finals once in his career across his 4 playoff appearances. This was during the 2021-22 NBA season. At this point in time, the Dallas Mavericks also had Spencer Dinwiddie, Davis Bertans, Tim Hardaway Jr. and current New York Knicks superstar, Jalen Brunson. The team also had Kristaps Porzingis who battled the season with several injuries.


The 2021-22 Western Conference finals were played between the Dallas Mavericks and the Golden State Warriors. In what turned out to be an intense matchup between Luka Doncic and Stephen Curry, the latter eventually emerged as the victor and went on to win the NBA championship against the Boston Celtics. In spite of the loss in the series, Doncic’s performance against the Warriors solidified his status as one of the league’s best players with the ability to lead his team during tough times.
