During his time at Duke, Wendell Moore Jr. received recognition for his performance and was named to the All-ACC Second Team and Second-team All-ACC in 2022. In the 2022 NBA Draft, he was selected as the 26th overall pick by the Dallas Mavericks but was later traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Moore played for the Minnesota Timberwolves from 2022 to 2024 before joining the Detroit Pistons in 2024. In addition to his NBA career, he has also represented the United States internationally. He played in the FIBA Under-16 Americas Championship in 2017 in Argentina, where his team won the gold medal. He also played in the FIBA Under-17 World Cup in 2018 in Argentina, where his team once again won the gold medal.
