Zaccharie Risacher is a professional basketball player for the Atlanta Hawks of the NBA as of October 2024. He declared for the 2024 NBA draft in April 2024. The Atlanta Hawks selected Risacher with the first overall pick in the 2024 NBA draft, making him the second consecutive French player to be chosen first overall after Victor Wembanyama in 2023. This selection also established Risacher as the fifth international player to be drafted first overall in NBA history, joining Victor Wembanyama, Andrea Bargnani (2006), Andrew Bogut (2005), and Yao Ming (2002).

The 2024 NBA draft marked a historic moment for French basketball, as Risacher was one of three French players selected in the top 10 picks. Alex Sarr was chosen second by the Washington Wizards, and Tidjane Salaün was picked sixth by the Charlotte Hornets, making France the first non-U.S. country to have three players selected in the top 10 of an NBA draft. Risacher signed with the Hawks on July 6, 2024. He made his NBA Summer League debut against the Washington Wizards on July 12, recording 18 points, five rebounds, and two assists in a 94-88 loss. In August 2020, Risacher joined ASVEL Basket's youth program, competing in the LNB Espoirs (French under-21 league). He made his professional debut for ASVEL's senior team in 2021 in the LNB Élite against Metropolitans 92, followed by his EuroLeague debut in January 2022. His talent earned him the Best Young Player award for the 2023-24 LNB Élite season.
