Eagles' Carson Wentz still not cleared for contact
The clock is ticking for Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz, who is yet to be cleared for contact ahead of the team's NFL opener.
Wentz is coming off an anterior cruciate ligament injury that ended his 2017 season after 13 games as the Eagles went on to win the Super Bowl.
The 25-year-old was permitted to participate in 11-on-11 drills last week but the Eagles are unsure if h will receive full medical clearance in time for week one against the Atlanta Falcons next month.
Discussing Wentz on Sunday, Eagles head coach Doug Pederson told reporters: "When they clear him, he'll be cleared.
The Eagles are scheduled to open the regular season against the Falcons on September 6, and it looks like Nick Foles could pick up where he left off and lead the team under center to start to the year.
