The Indianapolis Colts have won the Super Bowl twice in four appearances. Earlier known as the Baltimore Colts, the team featured in two Super Bowls before shifting to Indianapolis. As the Baltimore Colts, the team won one Super Bowl (Super Bowl V) and three NFL Championships. After shifting to Indianapolis in 1984, they won one more Super Bowl in 2006 (Super Bowl XLI). Since 1984, the Colts made it to 16 playoffs and two Super Bowls.

The Colts have won two Super Bowls to date. They won their first Super Bowl when the team was still based out of Baltimore and known as the Baltimore Colts. This Super Bowl win came in 1971, against the Dallas Cowboys in Super Bowl V. As the Indianapolis Colts, the team won a Super Bowl in 2007, against the Chicago Bears in Super Bowl XLI. When was the last time the Indianapolis Colts won the Super Bowl?


The last Super Bowl win for the Colts came in the 2006 postseason. It was the first Super Bowl appearance by the Colts since their shift to Indianapolis. They faced the Chicago Bears in Super Bowl XLI which happened at the Dolphin Stadium in Miami. The Super Bowl was played in rainy conditions and quarterback Peyton Manning led them to an inspiring turnaround. The Bears took the lead early in the game but the Colts overturned a 14-6 first quarter deficit. Peyton Manning was named the Super Bowl MVP with a passer rating of 81.8.

The Colts have appeared in a total of two Super Bowls. They appeared in two Super Bowls before 1984, when they were still the Baltimore Colts. They also appeared in two Super Bowls as the Indianapolis Colts. Their first Super Bowl appearance was in 1970 in Super Bowl III. It was the first Super Bowl to bear the trademark name ‘Super Bowl’.
