Marcus Davenport is an American football defensive end for the Detroit Lions in the NFL as of the 2024 NFL season. The New Orleans Saints drafted him as the 14th pick in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft. Davenport recorded 5 sacks, 21 tackles and a forced fumble in his rookie season, with that, he was named to the PFWA All-Rookie Team. In 2019, with 13 starts, Davenport totalled 6 sacks, 31 tackles and three forced fumbles. Davenport concluded the 2020 season with two sacks and 21 tackles. In 2021, the Saints picked up the fifth-year option on Davenport’s contract. In 2023, Davenport signed a one-year contract with the Minnesota Vikings.

Davenport attended the University of Texas at San Antonio. He played in 11 games his freshman season and totalled 14 tackles. During his sophomore season, he earned honorable mention All-Conference USA accolades and recorded 49 tackles. Davenport played in all 13 games in his junior season and was named to the second team in All-Conference USA. Davenport received the 2017 Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year and first-team all-conference his senior season. Before committing to UTSA, he graduated high school from John Paul Stevens High School where he hauled a total of 73 tackles.
