Stefon Diggs in Houston Texans v Green Bay Packers

Stefon Diggs attended the University of Maryland and played for the Maryland Terrapins. Stefon Diggs is an American football wide receiver for the Houston Texans as of the 2024 NFL season. The Minnesota Vikings selected him as the 146th overall pick in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL Draft. The 6-foot, 190-pound wide receiver was born in Alexandria, Virginia, on November 29, 1993. In his childhood, he was forced to take up responsibility at a young age as his father passed away when he was only 14 years old. Diggs, who has two younger brothers, had to help look after them and that meant he needed to stay close to home. Halfway through his first season, Diggs joined the Vikings as a full-time starter. Catching the "Minneapolis Miracle" pass in the 2017–18 NFL playoffs was one of his best plays. He was also selected to the PFWA All-Rookie Team.

Diggs stayed in Minnesota for two more seasons before signing a five-year contract the following offseason and being traded to the Buffalo Bills in 2020. He became the first receiver to surpass 100 catches with the Bills and broke the franchise record set by Eric Moulds for receiving yards in a season. But he was traded once more in 2024, this time to the Houston Texans. However, he tore his ACL against the Indianapolis Colts in the week 8 matchup, which sidelined him for the rest of the 2024 NFL season.

Stefon Diggs’ High School

Stefon Diggs went to Our Lady of Good Counsel High School, which is located in Montgomery County, Maryland. In high school, Diggs was part of the football team and also ran track. He had productive years as a junior and senior as a receiver. He was also used at times as a running back and also played some part on defense. He was regarded as a consensus 5-star recruit and was seen as the number two wide receiver prospect in the nation by Scout.com.

Stefon Diggs’ College

Choosing to stay closer to home to take care of his family, Diggs decided to attend the University of Maryland in 2012, even though several colleges such as Florida, USC, Ohio State, and Auburn all offered him a scholarship. For the Terrapins football team, Diggs got a chance to play as a receiver as well as a returner on special teams. Performing admirably, Diggs caught 54 receptions for 848 yards and 6 touchdowns and added a further 934 yards on kickoff and punt returns to finish as the runner-up in ACC Freshman of the Year voting.

As a sophomore, Diggs again started well but an injury forced him to miss the final six games. In his junior year, 2014, Diggs played in 10 games but missed a few again due to an injury. However, even after playing fewer games, he still led the team with 62 receptions, 792 receiving yards, and 5 receiving touchdowns; he was named to the Second-team All-Big Ten.
