Carmelo Anthony is an American professional basketball player who plays as a forward for the Houston Rockets of the NBA. He played college basketball at the Syracuse University where he won the NCAA as a freshman and was named Tournament’s Most Outstanding Player in 2003. He has been named an NBA All-Star 10 times and in All-NBA Team 6 times. Carmelo was drafted with the third pick by the Denver Nuggets in the 2003 NBA draft. He won gold medals at 2008, 2012, and 2016 Olympics and is national team's leading scorer.

During Carmelo's time in Denver, the Nuggets reached playoffs every year from 2004 to 2010. During his rookie season, he won Western Conference Rookies of the Month for all 6 months and was named in NBA All-Rookie first team. During game 1 of round one of 2004 playoffs, he became the first rookie to lead a playoff team in scoring since David Robinson of the San Antonio Spurs during the 1989–90 season. In his second season, he finished 19th in NBA in scoring with averaging 20.8 points per game. Carmelo started in 80 games during the 2005–06 season and finished 8th in NBA with averaging 26.5 points per game. During the 2006-07 season, he was involved in the infamous Knicks-Nuggets brawl, footage showed Carmelo punching Mardy Collins of the Knicks on the face and was suspended for 15 games. He made his All-Star debut in 2007. He finished second in scoring in NBA with an average of 28.9 points per game.

On December 10, 2008, Anthony scored 33 points in the third quarter. After losing in 5 straight playoff appearances from2004–2008, during the 2009 playoffs, Anthony won his first playoff series when Denver beat the New Orleans Hornets (Now Pelicans) but went on to lose to eventual champions the Los Angeles Lakers in the conference finals. During the 2009-10 season, Carmelo finished third in NBA with 28.2 points per game and had 31 Thirty -plus scoring games. On February 22, 2011, Anthony, along with Chauncey Billups, was traded to the New York Knicks in a three-way trade for 12 players which also involving the Minnesota Timberwolves. During the 2012-13 season led the NBA in scoring with 28.7 points per game and recorded 31 Thirty-plus scoring games. Averaged 28.8 points for the 2013 Playoffs in 12 games. Carmelo finished second in scoring during the 2013-14 season with 27.4 points per game. On January 24, 2014, he scored a career-high, the Knicks' franchise record, and the Madison Square Garden record for single-game scoring with a 62-point, 13-rebound against the Charlotte Bobcats (Now Hornets). On February 18, 2015, after undergoing left knee surgery he was ruled out for the remainder of the season.

On September 25, 2017, Anthony was traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder. On July 25, 2018, he was traded to the Atlanta Hawks in a three-way trade also involving the Philadelphia 76ers. On July 30, 2018, Carmelo accepted a contract buyout from the Hawks and was placed on waivers and signed a veteran's minimum deal with the Houston Rockets.
