Video: Mexico undeterred by protests ahead of Brazil clash

Mexico’s head coach Jose Manuel de la Torre will not be distracted by the civil unrest in Brazil when his side play the host nation in their second Confederation Cup match in Fortaleza on Wednesday.

Jose Manuel de la Torre, Mexican Head Coach“Of course we don’t like to have these protests, not here nor in our country, not anywhere. But no matter what is happening, we are in a sports competition and that will be our focus.”

“The whole group is upset because of the loss to Italy. Carlos Salcido didn’t mean to say that we were afraid but we need to be aggressive when recovering the ball and attacking. We had ball possession. We were very good but there were moments when we weren’t aggressive enough.”

“I believe that Brazil are a great team and a young one. Many of them do not play abroad and that makes them a very strong team.”
