2023 NBA All Star Game
LeBron James' All-Star game record

For the sixth straight year, LeBron James finds himself as captain of an All-Star team. Along with being one of the game's greatest talents, he is effective when it comes to building a dominant squad.

In his five years as captain, James has never lost in the All-Star game. Kevin Durant and Giannis Antetokounmpo have been the two main stars who have failed to take him down.

Throughout his historic career, James has made the All-Star game 19 times. Across all contests, he has a record of 10-9.

Along with being the NBA's all-time leading scorer, he also scored the most points all-time in All-Star game history. In his 19 appearances, LeBron James has scored a total of 334 points. The next closest is LA Lakers legend Kobe Bryant with 238.

Even in his late-30s, James has still put up big numbers in the All-Star game. In his hometown of Cleveland last year, he posted a stat line of 24 points, six rebounds and eight assists.

Every year, he manages to come away with a star-studded group for the weekend's finale. This year, his roster is headlined by Joel Embiid and Nikola Jokic and also has rising stars like Anthony Edwards of the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Along with picking a dominant squad, James also got fans stirring with some of his selections. After picking Joel Embiid with his first pick among the starters, he picked a familiar face in Kyrie Irving.

Leading up to the trade deadline, Irving was one of the biggest names moved. When the All-Star guard requested a trade from the Brooklyn Nets, the LA Lakers were among the first teams connected to him. Irving eventually ended up joining the Dallas Mavericks.

Prior to and after the move, James made it clear that he wanted to reunite with his former teammate, which is why this pick had people stirring. As expected, some even went as far as to say he was tampering.

With his impressive record on the line, the pressure is on LeBron James and his All-Star squad. If Team Giannis is able to walk away victorious, they will leave a blemish on "King James'" resume.

However, fresh off becoming the league's all-time leading scorer, the Lakers superstar might be looking to add another All-Star MVP to his trophy case.
