Two-time NBA MVP Steph Curry will be out when the Golden State Warriors take on the LA Lakers tonight. Curry is still dealing with a shin injury that has sidelined him for the last five games. He last played on February 4 against the Dallas Mavericks.
The NBA’s all-time three-point leader has reportedly started doing one-on-one workouts but will still be re-evaluated after a week. At the very least, he will miss the Bay Area team’s next four games.
Curry is averaging 29.4 points, 6.3 rebounds, 6.4 assists, and 1.0 steals in 38 games. He is shooting 49.5% from the field, including 42.7% from behind the arc. The Warriors will badly miss his production as they try to finish strong down the regular-season stretch.
Golden State is 9th (29-29) in the Western Conference. However, they are just one game behind the Dallas Mavericks (31-29) for the coveted sixth spot to avoid the play-in.
Without the NBA’s deadliest shooter, Draymond Green emphasized before the All-Star break how they needed to turn up their defensive effort. They will have to do that starting tonight against a retooled LA Lakers team that’s also looking to climb the standings.

Anthony Davis: Right foot stress injury; Injured since December 16, 2022
Anthony Davis, who was snubbed from the NBA All-Star game, missed 5 ½ weeks after injuring his foot against the Denver Nuggets on December 16. He returned to action last January 25 against the San Antonio Spurs and has missed only one game since getting the clearance to play.
He has been ruled probable in every game since his return but has played in all of them except against the Brooklyn Nets last January 30. He was a late scratch against the Nets at that time.
Unless an unfortunate setback happens between this morning’s shootaround and the pregame warmups, Anthony Davis should line up tonight against the defending NBA champions.
Andrew Wiggins: Personal reasons
The Golden State Warriors expect Andrew Wiggins to miss a few games after the All-Star break. He will not be around when they visit Crypto.com Arena to face LeBron James and the LA Lakers.
