Steve Kerr lauds Steph Curry for his superhuman 47-point effort against Sacramento Kings: "That was just Steph Curry deciding we're gonna win"

Steph Curry posted a season-high 47 points versus the Sacramento Kings on Monday

Steve Kerr handed Steph Curry yet another compliment after the Golden State Warriors superstar led the team to their first win in six games.

Curry recorded 47 points, eight rebounds and eight assists, going 7-of-12 from downtown as the Warriors bested the Sacramento Kings 116-113 on Monday.

Kerr said after the game about his star player's performance:

"I would just say that Steph was just breathtaking. He's obviously one of the greatest players of all-time. And he plays so well on so many nights, but this even seemed like something special for him.

"17-for-24 [from the field], eight rebounds, eight asssists, no turnovers, hitting every big shot – he just put his on back.
"The other guys played with great energy. I thought the starting group did everything necessary to win the game. Wiggs [Andrew Wiggins] with a couple of big threes, Klay's defense, Draymond [Green], Loon [Kevon Looney] they were all fantastic.
"But that was just Steph Curry deciding we were going to win."


Steph Curry posts season-high points tally as Golden State Warriors halt five-game losing streak

This was Steph Curry's first 40-point outing this season. It was also the second-highest individual score posted by a player this season, after Ja Morant scored 49 points against the Houston Rockets on October 21.

Curry's display for the Golden State Warriors against the Sacramento Kings was also his 57th career 40-point game. According to ESPN Stats and Info, he has 10 career games with 45-plus points after turning 33, the second-most all-time, trailing only Michael Jordan (11).

Steph Curry hit yet another milestone with his seven triples against the Sacramento Kings. The 2022 Finals MVP has now made at least three 3-pointers in each of his first 10 games this season, the longest streak to begin a season in NBA history.

Overall, Curry has made 53 three-pointers this season, the second-most through a player's first 10 games of a season ever. As per ESPN Stats and Info, he also holds the previous record, hitting 59 triples in the first 10 games of the 2018-19 season.

Over 10 games, Steph Curry has averaged 32.6 points per game. He is also shooting an incredible 51 percent from the field, 43 percent from beyond the arc and 93 percent from the charity stripe.

Teammate Andrew Wiggins was also very complimentary of Steph Curry's play against the Sacramento Kings. Wiggins told the media after the game:

"Steph went crazy. He was doing what he always does. That's why he's one of the GOATs."

He also commented on Curry scoring 17 of his 47 points in the decisive fourth quarter. It helped the Warriors overcome a nine-point deficit at the end of the third period. Wiggins said:

"It's lovely. You know, you go out there, and Steph, he is an incredible player. All the attention he causes – there can be two guys on him, closing out, if he gets a shot up, more likely it's going in.
"Sometimes you can just find yourself just watching. He's that great. He's a special player. Very entertaining even for us on the court."

The Warriors are now 4-7 and will take on the Cleveland Cavaliers in their next game on Friday (Nov. 11).
