Miami Heat's Gabe Vincent dropped a career-high 29 points in Game 3.

Gabe Vincent put up a career-high 29 points to lead the Miami Heat to a 128-102 win in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference finals. Vincent was on fire from 3-point range, going 6-for-9. The Heat now have a 3-0 series lead and are a game away from the NBA Finals despite being the No. 8 seed.

Vincent, 26, was born in Modesto in Central California. Vincent was born to Franklyn and Cynthia Vincent. His father Franklyn is Nigerian and his mother Cynthia is American. She was born in Connecticut. Both of Vincent’s parents have doctorates in psychology.

Vincent is the youngest of three brothers. He grew up in Stockton, California and the Central Valley area.


Gabe Vincent’s basketball journey

Vincent represents the Nigerian national basketball team in international play. He played on the team during the 2020 Summer Olympics and the 2019 FIBA World Cup.

Vincent played college basketball at the University of California, Santa Barbara. He averaged 12.8 points per game during his four-year career.

Vincent went undrafted and came out of college in 2018. He did not make an NBA roster and played in the G League for his hometown Stockton Kings. Vincent played for the G League Kings for two seasons.

Gabe Vincent then signed with the Miami Heat on a two-way deal in 2020, meaning he would split time between the NBA and the Heat’s G League affiliate. He averaged 20.9 ppg in his 31 G League games with the Sioux Falls Sky Force.

The 26-year-old was on the roster for Miami’s run to the Finals in the 2020 bubble. He appeared in one game during their playoffs run.

Vincent signed a full-time contract with the Heat in 2021. He played in 68 games that season, starting 27. He averaged 8.7 ppg during the year.

Gabe Vincent played in 68 games again this season. He set career highs with 34 starts and 25.9 minutes per game. He also set a career high averaging 9.4 ppg.
