The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in its 19th apex Council meeting decided to send both the men's and women's cricket teams to participate in the Asian Games which are scheduled to be held in September 2023 in Hangzhou, China. The Asian Games 2023 will commence on September 23 and conclude on October 8. While this is the first time that India will participate in the cricket event, Asian games have featured cricket twice- in 2010 and in 2014.
