Mohammad Hafeez signs with Dhaka Dynamites; will play against Mohammad Amir in his first game

Mohammad Hafeez, who had initially turned down a 10 million contract to play in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), will now play for the remainder of the 2015 season after he signed for the Dhaka Dynamites, ESPN Cricinfo reports. Hafeez, who’s form has been less than impressive in the recently concluded series against England, will certainly boost the chances of the Dynamites, who are looking to book a place in the semi-finals of the BPL.

“We have signed a deal with Mohammad Hafeez for Dhaka and he will play his first match on December 8,” Moghees Sheikh, Hafeez's manager told ESPNcricinfo. "They [Dhaka] were not sure (earlier) about players' selection but now they have realized that they require him as he can be handful on his day on Bangladesh pitches.”

Hafeez will play his first match against the Chittagong Vikings, for whom he had earlier refused to sign for, because he did not want to play alongside Mohammad Amir. Hafeez had said “I cannot play with any player who has tarnished and brought a bad name to the country.”

Mohammad Amir, who had been banned for five years for spot fixing in one of the darkest days of Pakistan cricket, is now resurrecting his career with his stint at the Chittagong Vikings.

Will not share dressing room with Amir: Hafeez

Hafeez who was once again asked about playing alongside Amir, remained unchanged in his opinion and is adamant that he will never play with him in his career.

"When they say it and talk to me I will answer them accordingly," he said. "For now, my personal view is that I can't play with such players in the same team. But if any player like him can come and play against me, I will surely play against them, but will not share the same dressing room in the same team which I am playing for,” he concluded.

The BPL has been a success so far, with crowds turning up in numbers to watch Asia’s biggest stars battle it out in the T20 format of the game. Nail biting finishes coupled with some explosive batting has also made this a spectacle in itself.

The Comilla Victorians, Rangpur Riders and the Barisal Bulls have 10 points each as they look to cement their place in the semi-finals of the tournament. Dhaka Dynamites, meanwhile have 6 points with three games left to be played and as the business end of the tournament gets closer, the inclusion of Mohammed Hafeez would only enhance their chances further.
