MS Dhoni

In the history of Indian cricket, team India has established many new benchmarks and records under the dynamic leadership of MS Dhoni. The whole world has seen that so many consecutive wins have been achieved by team India mainly o the basis of a pivotal role played by MS Dhoni. His fearless aggressive game play and the quality to infuse an unparalleled fighting spirit among his team members is remarkable. Never ever before any leader has shown his meticulous abilities to identify and take advantage of the weakness and strengths of the opponents. Under his tremendous captaincy skills team India has already emerged as one of the strongest contender for winning the next world cup. So changing the leader as this juncture in the opinion of most of his fans is out of the question.

Our vibrant and energetic captain MS Dhoni recently emphasised that it would be better if he continues as the Indian captain in all the three formats of the game. While speaking to the media during a promotional event in Delhi, Dhoni clarified that since there is only one year left before the world cup, it will not be appropriate to put the stress of captaincy on a new player. Appreciating his bowlers, Dhoni said that they are very much capable of getting 20 wickets in a test match, but they need to improve their performance on the pitches outside the country.

It is pertinent to clarify that last year Dhoni had said that he could leave the captaincy of one of the formats of the game, prior to the next world cup to be held in New Zealand and Australia. He had said that the decision will be taken in this regard in the end of the year 2013.

MSD will be 33 years of age at the beginning of the next world cup, but he said that keeping in view that he is fit and fine – despite the quantum of cricket he is playing – he really feels good. He said no one knows what will happen in the future, but right now everything is running smooth. Dhoni said that the world cup is going to begin in one year, and it would not be fair to groom a new captain at the moment. He said that it is necessary for any captain to possess the experience of 80 to 90 matches. He said he understands the pressure well. One has to undergo the stress and such a long exposure makes him more experienced than others

Referring to defeat of the team India in Durban, Dhoni said that the team lost due a single bad session, and endure difficult conditions. He said that team India has to play many away series. During January and February, the team has to play 5 ODI’s and two tests in New Zealand. Dhoni also stressed that in the upcoming tours, our bowlers, few of them do not have much exposure of bouncy pitches, rather some of them have only played 5 tests away will have to learn quickly as to how to get best out of the bouncy pitches. And this will become possible when they will be given chance to improve their skill on foreign soil.

On a personal note I strongly believe that MSD is one of the finest captains we have ever had. He is full of self confidence. Brave and bold yet known to be captain cool. His ability to take the risk and getting the best out of every player as well as motivating the youngsters is par excellence. He is one of the best finishers of the world and has always set a personal example by coming upfront under any challenging situation. For most of his fans he should continue to lead India forever. We love you captain.
