Australian wicketkeeper-batter Josh Inglish executed an unusual stumping off Adam Zampa's bowling to dismiss Netherlands player Paul van Meekeren in the 2023 World Cup clash in Delhi on Wednesday, October 25.
The dismissal took place in the 21st over when Zampa bowled a wide delivery down the leg side. Meekeren looked to sweep, but missed it altogether. Inglish also failed to collect the ball, but it fell on the stumps after hitting his gloves. The batter was stranded on the crease line.
With the dismissal, Zampa took back-to-back wickets as Netherlands were bundled out for 90 while chasing 400. The leg-spinner finished the game as the leading wicket-taker, finishing with figures of 4/8 in just three overs. It was his third consecutive four-wicket haul in the tournament, having finished with 4/53 and 4/47 against Pakistan and Sri Lanka, respectively.
With 13 wickets in five matches, Zampa has become the leading wicket-taker in the 50-over tournament. He eclipsed New Zealand’s left-arm spinner Mitchell Santner, who has scalped 12 wickets in five matches so far.

After opting to bat first, Australia posted 399/8 in their allotted 50 overs. Glenn Maxwell and David Warner starred with the bat. With the victory over the Netherlands, Australia completed a hat-trick of wins in the World Cup. They have won three out of five games so far. The Pat Cummins-led side will next face New Zealand at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala on Saturday, October 28.
