Yuvraj Singh confirms engagement to Hazel Keech

Yuvraj Singh’s mother feels that Hazel Keech is her reflection

Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh has officially announced his engagement to actress Hazel Keech, via twitter. Previously DNA had reported about the star couple’s November 11 engagement in Bali.

Though Singh’s mother Shabnam skipped the private ceremony in Bali, she is quite happy with her son’s choice.Talking to Bombay Times on Friday, she said, “Both Yuvi and I are very happy. I like the girl. Of course, I knew about the engagement. I should ask him why he chose Bali. Yuvi has now left for Baroda for a match and will be focussing on the game. The wedding date hasn't been decided yet.”

The batsman has also said that he won’t be giving any interviews as he wants to focus on the ongoing Ranji Trophy season. The 33-year-old said in a tweet, “Will not be giving any interview or comments any further that's it ! I'm in the middle of a important season so would like to focus on that.”

According to a report by India Today, the Sixer King’s father Yograj Singh is also happy with this new development in his son’s life. He also believes that marriage will change Yuvraj’s luck and bring him back to the national side.

Yograj said, “I was introduced to her by Yuvraj and she is a very nice girl. I am confident that marrying her will change his fortunes and he will return to the national squad. He definitely has it in him to represent India. It is sad how Mahendra Singh Dhoni spoilt his international career. The same had happened to me when my friend Kapil Dev had destroyed my India career”.

A number of times in the past Yuvi’s father blamed MSD for his son’s exclusion from the team. However, Yuvraj has always differed by saying, “I have got nothing to do with statements. I enjoyed playing under Dhoni.” Yograj also feels that more administrative posts in BCCI should be filled up by ex-cricketers. He said, “I am really happy to see Ganguly get involved in the BCCI.”
