The Mesut Ozil transfer has again hinted towards Arsene manager Arsene Wenger’s admiration towards the academy system existing in Bundesliga clubs.

Mesut Ozil was a part of Werder Bremen before joining Spanish giants Real Madrid. The summer deadline day was the occasion for a major celebration, as Wenger successfully signed the midfield maestro from the Los Blancos. Interestingly, this was Wenger’s fifth signing of a German player in less than two years.

The list includes Per Mertesacker (from Werder Bremen), Lukas Podolski (from FC Cologne), Serge Gnabry (from VfB Stuttgart) and also Thomas Eisfield (from Borussia Dortmund). So, it is quite clear that German players are quite favoured by Wenger and they form a major part of the North London club.

Rumours doing the rounds in world media suggests Arsene Wenger is planning a coup for three highly talented German players in the near future, namely Marco Rues (Borussia Dortmund) , Lars Bender (Bayern Leverkusen) and Ilker Gundogan (Borussia Dortmund).

According to The Telegraph, Arsene Wenger has increased the scouting activity under the leadership of chief scout Steve Rowley in Germany, and it seems clear that the German imports have found a place of favour in the manager’s eyes. English media giants Daily Mail has also linked the London club with the talented German trio and has hinted at a future transfer pursuit.

Arsene Wenger’s interest in Bender is no secret, as he launched a £18.5 million bid for the talented German in the concluded transfer window. But it was rejected as the club was not ready to let go of the player and also the valuation didn’t meet their demands.

The Dortmund trio is also highly valued by the Frenchmen as they are a major rising force in German football, and the inclusion of these players could turn Arsenal into a major threat both nationally and internationally. Marco Reus will be able to solve the striker problems at Arsenal and Ilkay Gundogan is regarded as one of the best youth defensive midfielders in the world.

It is left to be seen whether Arsene Wenger is successful in his attempt of signing this German trio, but it is a fact that they can propel the London club to a whole new level.
