Manchester United manager David Moyes is set to dip into the transfer market in January to strengthen his midfield following the news that Marouane Fellaini is out for six weeks, report The Metro.

The Belgian midfielder was Moyes’ only summer signing and has struggled to hit a good run of form, now with his season hampered by injuries, Moyes is being forced to delve into the market to try and boost his weak midfield.

Just days after telling the media that he will improve his form, Fellaini received the news that he will miss the next two months of United’s season with a wrist injury.

The injury was apparently sustained in October but with the pain becoming too extreme, surgery was required.

United were already weak in midfield when Fellaini was fit and Moyes had been linked with some midfielders in recent weeks. It is thought that Moyes will now try to strengthen even further in midfield.

Michael Carrick is also still suffering from injury, weakening United’s midfield further.
