Manchester City’s fortunes in the European stage is about to change after Pep Guardiola took over as the manager of the club this summer.The Citizens finished fourth in the league last season after starting well.

The incoming manager has made some bold changes to his squad by loaning Joe Hart to Torino and omitting Yaya Toure from the Champions League squad. The have already roped in the likes of Ilkay Gundogan, John Stones, Nolito and Leroy Sane to fit into the football philosophy propagated by Pep.

The Spanish manager is expected to go all guns blazing for Premier League success and in City’s search for Champions League greatness.

EA Sports recently revealed the player ratings of FIFA 17 for the Manchester City players. Many, as expected, have gained a significant upgrade with some old horses being given downgrades. Fans all around the world are waiting for FIFA 17 to release which is just around the corner.

We take a look at the FIFA 17 ratings of the Manchester City players:


Will Patching: 60 Overall

The academy product debuts in FIFA 17 with a rating of 60. He is attributed with 69 pace and 63 dribbling.

Aaron Nemane: 60 Overall

Aaron Nemane

Another player from the Manchester City academy finds his place for the first time in FIFA with a rating of 60. He is given a pace rating of 84 which is his primary strength.

Cameron Humphreys-Grant: 61 Overall

Humphreys-Grant

The tall centre back from the City academy finds a rating of 61 in the new FIFA 17.

Aleix García: 63 Overall

Aleix Garcia

The Spanish midfielder who joined City in 2015 but is yet to appear for the Manchester team is given a rating of 63.

Brahim Diaz: 64 Overall

Brahim Diaz

The 16-year-old attacking midfielder is one of the exciting prospects in the City academy and has been attributed with a rating of 64 which is pretty good for his age.

Pablo Maffeo: 65 Overall

Pablo Maffeo

The young defender from City’s youth ranks is given a rating of 65 by EA Sports in the new FIFA 17.

Angelino: 65 Overall

Angelino

The right back, who was rated 62 in FIFA 17, gets an upgrade of 3 rating points to 65 in the new ratings revealed by EA Sports.

Angus Gunn: 65 Overall

Angus Gunn

Young Gunn, who is a goalkeeper, makes his debut in FIFA 17 with a rating of 65.

Thierry Ambrose:66 Overall

Thierry Ambrose

The striker was rated 62 in FIFA 16 and is given a four point upgrade to 66. His 86 pace rating is also noteworthy.

Brandon Barker: 67 Overall

Brandon Barker

With a rating of 67, Brandon Barker is upgraded by three rating points in the latest FIFA 17 rankings.

Kelechi Iheanacho: 74 Overall

Kelechi Iheanacho

The young Nigerian forward was one of the biggest revelations for the Manchester City team last season and possesses a keen eye for goal. Under the guidance of Pep Guardiola, Iheanacho is poised to develop and excel in leaps and bounds.

Iheanacho was rated 67 in FIFA 16 but has been an increased rating of 74 in the recently released ratings owing to the good performances he put for the club.

John Stones: 78 Overall

The highly rated prospect who joined Pep Guardiola’s side this summer for a massive fee is attributed with a rating of 78, a point upgrade from the previous edition.

Willy Caballero: 78 Overall

Willy caballero

The goalkeeper was given a couple of starts ahead of Joe Hart by Pep Guardiola and gets a rating of 78 in the latest edition of FIFA.

Fabian Delph: 78 Overall

Fabian Delph

The England international failed to impress since joining City from Aston Villa in 2015. He is given a 78 rating, a point upgrade from his previous rating of 77.

Leroy Sane: 79 Overall

Leroy Sane

The German midfielder was absolutely brilliant for Schalke last season and Guardiola, who had one eye on him during his time at Bayern, was quick to pounce on Sane.

Rated at 79 in FIFA 17, Leroy Sane has tremendous scope for development at the English club.

Aleksandar Kolarov: 79 Overall

Aleksander Kolarov

The Serb, who has been on Manchester City’s books since 2010, holds on to his 79 rating because of his decent performances last season.

Fernando: 79 Overall

Fernando

The Brazilian, who seems that he’ll have an important role to play this season, maintains his rating of 79 in FIFA 17.

Gael Clichy: 80 Overall

Gael Clichy

Gael Cichy has been consistent since his arrival in Manchester in 2011. However, his rating doesn’t improve in FIFA 17 as he maintains his 80 rating.

Jesus Navas: 80 Overall

Jesus Navas

Navas, who did not see much game time last season, finds a downgrade of a rating point to 80.

Fernandinho: 81 Overall

Fernandinho

Guardiola has said that Fernandinho is a key figure in his future plans for this season and the next. He gets an upgrade of a point to 81.

Pablo Zabaleta: 82 Overall

Pablo Zabaleta

The veteran right back has been solid in the Manchester City defence for some years now. Though he’s expected to play an important part in Guardiola’s team, he does not get an upgrade from FIFA 16 and remains at 82.

Bacary Sagna: 82 Overall

Bacary Sagna

Sagna had a brilliant last season with the Citizens which sees his rating upgraded by three points to 82 with 82 defending and 80 physicality attributed to him.

Raheem Sterling: 82 Overall

Raheem Sterling

Raheem Sterling failed to live up to the expectations in his debut season with Manchester City following his big-money move from Liverpool. However, Guardiola is expected to improve him as a player this season.

Sterling manages to maintain his 82 rating for FIFA 17, the same he had been given in FIFA’s previous edition.

Nolito: 83 Overall

Nolito

One of the most important signings by Pep Guardiola, Nolito gets a rating of 83 in FIFA 17 and attributed with 79 pace and 84 dribbling skills.

Yaya Toure: 84 Overall

Yaya Toure

The big Ivorian might not exactly be in City’s plans this season and did not have the best of seasons in 2015-16 too. He is downgraded by a point to 84 in FIFA 17.

Nicolas Otamendi: 85 Overall

Nicolas Otamendi

Nicolas Otamendi deserves his one point upgrade to 85 owing to some good displays for City last season as well as impressive performances for Argentina in the Copa America.

Claudio Bravo: 85 Overall

Claudio Bravo

The Chilean might not have had the best starts in the Premier League, but he is here to stay. A perfect fit for Guardiola’s style of play, Bravo gets an upgrade of two rating points to 85 following his impressive displays for Barcelona last season.

Ilkay Gundogan: 85 Overall

Ilkay Gundogan

Gundogan is expected to be one of the key players for Manchester City this season after his transfer from Borussia Dortmund this summer. Gundogan gets a rating of 85 and is attributed with 87 dribbling and 84 passing skills.

Vincent Kompany: 86 Overall

Vincent Kompany

The Belgian defender spent the major part of last season on the sidelines due to injury. However, he has been upgraded by a point to 86. The 30-year-old, who is expected to bounce back, is given 86 for defending, 81 for physical attributes and 69 for pace.

David Silva: 87 Overall

David Silva

The Spaniard has been one of the most consistent players in the Premier League for the past few years. David Silva possesses immense skill and vision and is lethal with the final ball. He is given an overall rating of 87, a surprise downgrade from the 88 he got in FIFA 16.

Sergio Aguero: 89 Overall

Sergio Aguero

The destructive forward was sensational as usual for City last season and deserves the one point upgrade in rating to 89. In the new FIFA ratings, he has attributes of 89 for pace, 89 in dribbling and 88 in shot.
