Paul Pogba can be the best

Former Manchester United player Quinton Fortune claims Paul Pogba is as good as the three best players in the world according to the South African, who believes Messi, Ronaldo and Neymar are on top of the pecking order. Three colossal greats in their respective ways, Fortune believes another player will be added to the group of elite players and his former club Manchester United acquired the talent, for a world record fee in the summer before the start of the campaign.

When asked about the top players in world football in an interview with NDTV, Fortune said, “Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar. Those three are on another level. It’s great to see Paul Pogba on the shortlist, and I’m sure one day he will be at that level too.”

An obvious choice of top three players for most around the globe at the moment, Fortune mentioned the French midfield maestro as a future elite footballer. Pogba since his arrival has played a crucial role for United thus far this season. However, he has been inconsistent and yet to hit the highs he achieved whilst with Juventus.

The results for United have been below par this, as they have failed to register a single victory in the last five games in the Premier League. Currently, in sixth place, Mourinho is under immense pressure as this has been United’s worst start to a Premier League season since its inception.

Pogba has begun his stint at United rather seamlessly but reckons settling to life under a new manager and team takes some getting used too. United were held to a draw last night at Goodison Park, as Everton clinched the draw through a late Leighton Baines penalty. Under scrutiny for not taking their chances, Mourinho and his team are 13 points off leaders Chelsea and nine points off City, who occupy the last Champions League spot.

Mourinho did state before the game that United’s title hopes were fading due their inability to kill off games and with the draw at Everton all but confirmed the Portuguese manager’s worst fears in his head. United head to Zorya Luhansk in the Europe League with a single point enough for qualification to the next round of the competition before they welcome a tricky home test against Tottenham Hotspur.

Mourinho will be looking for not just a response but for a stable platform to rebuild United’s season and possibly qualify for the Champions League with a fourth spot finish, or face the possibility of a sack for failing to meet club targets just like his predecessors Louis van Gaal and David Moyes.
