Barcelona board member Mikel Camps has astonishingly lashed out at Real Madrid star Vinicius Jr after he was racially abused at Sevilla. He called the Brazilian 'a clown', going as far as to say that he deserves to be slapped for his flashy style of play.

Camps, who is the deputy spokesperson for Barcelona's Board of Directors, took to X (formerly Twitter) to slam the Real Madrid star after Los Blancos' recent UEFA Champions League win over Braga. Accusing Vinicius of showboating, he wrote in a now-deleted post (via AS):

"It's not racism, he deserves a slap for being a clown. What do these unnecessary and meaningless stepovers represent in the center of the field?"

Vinicius Jr was racially abused again during a La Liga match against Sevilla at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan. The home side took quick action and removed the fan from the stadium. The match ended in a 1-1 draw, but the racist incident proved to be the talking point once again.

Real Madrid Vinicius Jr highlights another racist incident in Sevilla draw

Vinicius Jr was delighted with the quick action from Sevilla in removing the racist fan from the stadium. However, he took to Instagram to highlight another incident where a child was seen making monkey gestures towards the Real Madrid star.

He posted on his social media account:

"Congratulations to Sevilla for their quick positioning and punishment in yet another sad episode for Spanish football. Unfortunately, I had access to a video of another racist act in this Saturday's match, this time carried out by a child."

He added:

"I am very sorry that there is no one to educate you. I invest, and I invest a lot, in education in Brazil to form citizens with attitudes different from these. The face of today's racist is plastered on websites as on many other occasions. I hope the Spanish authorities do their part and change the legislation once and for all."

Sevilla announced that the fan who was removed would have his season ticket suspended and would not be allowed back in the stadium any time soon.

Racist incidents against the Real Madrid star have not reduced in Spain. He faced a similar situation last season in a La Liga game against Valencia.
