Gareth Bale in demand

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly considering offers for Gareth Bale from other clubs as well apart from Real Madrid, which might scupper Los Blancos’ pursuit of the Welsh winger in the eleventh hour, according to BBC Sport.

Gareth Bale has been the primary target of Spanish giants Real Madrid for the last two months but last-ditch deals made reportedly by Manchester United has intensified the battle to capture the prized 24-year-old winger.

Spurs’ representative insist no final agreement has yet been reached with the Spanish giants. Real Madrid still remain on the brink of sealing a world record transfer for Bale after days of negotiations.

David Moyes has wanted Bale all summer but backed away from the move in case it sparked an auction. Now United accept the fee is set – and they will have to come up with £85 million.

Real Madrid’s move stalled because Spurs wanted cash along with a player, reportedly to be Madrid’s left back Fabio Coentrao.

But, Manchester United are willing to pay the necessary £85m for the player, and the structure of the payment is attractive for the North London club as well, as United are willing to make the entire payment in smaller blocks than Real Madrid, who are considering to pay the amount over four to five seasons.

Chelsea is the other club rumoured to be in the frame for Gareth Bale. According to Sports Direct News, Tottenham have offered Bale to their London rivals in exchange for cash and Juan Mata, whose presence at Chelsea has subsided with the arrival of Willian from Shakhtar Donetsk.
