Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea is reportedly set to miss the crucial clash with Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Saturday. The Spanish shot-stopper has arguably been United's best player this season.

According to Manchester Evening News, De Gea could miss the Spurs game after testing positive for COVID-19. Dean Henderson is all set to make his first Premier League appearance of the season.

De Gea's absence could be a huge blow for Ralf Rangnick's side. The Spaniard has been in incredible form this season, almost single-handedly keeping his team afloat

The 31-year-old has started all of United's 28 Premier League games this season. Henderson, meanwhile, has made just three appearances across competitions, none in the league.

The 25-year-old has been heavily linked with a move away from Old Trafford due to his lack of game time. The goalkeeper is also eager to impress manager Gareth Southgate, who will announce his England squad for the upcoming international break.

Henderson will be keen to make the most of a rare start. United currently are fifth in the league table, one point behind fourth-placed Arsenal, who have three games in hand. Ralf Rangnick's side are coming off a disappointing 4-1 defeat at league leaders Manchester City last weekend.

According to Manchester Evening News, Cristiano Ronaldo and Edinson Cavani have taken part in United's training sessions this week and are likely to feature against Tottenham Hotspur.

Ronaldo is United's top scorer this season with 15 goals in 30 games across competitions. The Portuguese missed the City game last weekend due to a hip flexor injury but took part in training sessions on Thursday and Friday.

Ronaldo has suffered a massive dip in form in recent weeks, scoring just once in ten games. However, his availability should be a huge boost to the team.

Edinson Cavani, meanwhile, has missed the last six league games due to a groin injury. The 34-year-old's campaign has been ravaged by injuries, having scored just twice in 15 games all season. Cavani returned to training this week and is likely to feature against Tottenham.
