A birthday is a very special occasion for anyone. For a footballer, getting a year older by scoring a goal on the same makes it the icing on the cake. Time and again, we have seen amazing performances by birthday boys on the field.Here is a compilation of some amazing birthday goals by great footballers.

Ryan Giggs:

This United legend has piled misery on every side he has faced since his debut. Cutting across the left flank and piercing the defenses of the opposition. But his brace for his 100th Premier league goal on the eve of his 36th birthday, 28th November 2009. He scored the final goal in the 4-1 demolition of Portsmouth at Fratton Park becoming the 17th player then to reach this coveted milestone.

James Milner:

He was the youngest goalscorer in the Barclays Premier League. He was a part of Aston Villa‘s formidable strike team who used to surprise from set pieces. On his 23rd Birthday, on January 4th, 2009 he struck two goals past the Gilingham goal at Priestfield to secure a FA cup round win for the visitors.

Miroslav Klose:

Who said height ever mattered? Our little man has been a master of headed goals, besides being clinical finishing with his feet. But the opening match of 2006 World Cup saw him close two great goals against Costa Rica in a match which finished 4-2. Cant be a better way to celebrate a birthday!

Karim Benzema:

The Frenchman is known to be lethal before the goal, a poacher in the box. On his 22nd birthday, he finished superbly in a win which found Real Madrid maul Real Zaragoza 6-0.

Shinji Kagawa:

The then Borrusia Dortmund star attacking midfielder recieved the best present of his life, not just a great party, but a winning goal to keep his team in the title race. The goal came on his 23rd birthday against a resilient Werder Bremen side, where he headed in superbly from an IIkay Gundogan.

Steven Gerrard:

The midfielder has been a legend at Anfield and has been known for his long range and powerful shots. He had his birthday goal in a friendly against Hungary where he headed in a David Beckham free kick.

Emmanuel Adebayor:

Not all birthday partys end well. He scored a goal in his 28th birthday against former team and arch rivals Arsenal to get Spurs 2-0, only to have the match miraculously finish at 5-2 victory for the Gunners.
