After a failed pursuit last summer for Philippe Coutinho, Barcelona are set to return with renewed hope of getting their man in January. The Catalans will need to free up space in their squad if Coutinho has to fit in and the club has, therefore, reportedly decided to offload Ivan Rakitic next season.
The Daily Mirror claims that FC Barcelona are also open to include Rakitic in a deal for Philippe Coutinho. Liverpool are in the market for a central midfielder and may find this offer from the Catalans too good to turn down. Rakitic has racked up more than 175 caps for the Catalans and has been an influential figure for them.

Contrary to reports linking the Uruguayan centre-back with a move to Manchester United or Juventus, Jose Gimenez has today revealed that he is happy with Atletico and intends to stay with them for the foreseeable future. The Sun reports that Palmieri has rejected an approach from the Reds or from Inter Milan as he intends to make his move to AS Roma a success. Palmieri joined Roma from Palermo in 2015 and made 36 appearances last season.
