After a failed pursuit last summer for Philippe Coutinho, Barcelona are set to return with renewed hope of getting their man in January. The Catalans will need to free up space in their squad if Coutinho has to fit in and the club has, therefore, reportedly decided to offload Ivan Rakitic next season.

The Daily Mirror claims that FC Barcelona are also open to include Rakitic in a deal for Philippe Coutinho. Liverpool are in the market for a central midfielder and may find this offer from the Catalans too good to turn down. Rakitic has racked up more than 175 caps for the Catalans and has been an influential figure for them.

Jose Gimenez happy at Atletico Madrid

Contrary to reports linking the Uruguayan centre-back with a move to Manchester United or Juventus, Jose Gimenez has today revealed that he is happy with Atletico and intends to stay with them for the foreseeable future. Gimenez has made just four starts this season and is not a regular starter for the Colchoneros.

Talking to Tuttomercatoweb, Gimenez revealed, "I have a contract until 2020 and hopefully for a longer time. My mind is set on Atletico and I do not plan on leaving. My head is here, I am very happy. I feel very identified with the club."

Samir Handanovic signs a new deal with Inter Milan

The Nerazzurri have confirmed that their first choice goalkeeper, Samir Handanovic has today signed a new three year deal with the club. This extension will see him in the Inter Milan colours until 2021. The goalkeeper has had a terrific start to the ongoing season, racking up 195 appearances for the club since joining the club from Udinese in 2013.

Emerson Palmieri happy at AS Roma

Liverpool's reported target and AS Roma left-back, Emerson Palmieri has revealed that he is happy in Rome at the moment. The Sun reports that Palmieri has rejected an approach from the Reds or from Inter Milan as he intends to make his move to AS Roma a success. Palmieri joined Roma from Palermo in 2015 and made 36 appearances last season.

Ralph Hasenhuttl not interested in Bayern Munich job

But Hasenhuttl has revealed that he is not at all interested in taking over at the Allianz Arena and instead recommended his colleague, Hoffenheim's Julian Nagelsmann for the job.

The Liverpool midfielder has been a hot topic of interest for the last couple of months. He is in the final few months of his contract and has turned down a new deal from the Reds. Can has also been courted by the likes of Manchester City and Juventus.

Breaking his silence on the matter, Can told Liverpool Echo, "Why do you ask me this? It is not about money, that’s all I can say. Yes, I could (sign a pre-contract with another club next month), but tomorrow I could also sign for Liverpool. We’ll see."

Arda Turan considering a move to China

Mundo Deportivo reports that a Chinese Super League club has gotten in touch with the Turkish midfielder and sources close to the player have revealed that he is seriously considering the offer from the Far East.

Turan has not played a minute under Ernesto Valverde so far and is surely leaving FC Barcelona this January. Galatasaray and AS Monaco also remain interested in the 30-year-old.

Newcastle United want Galatasaray forward Garry Rodrigues

The Magpies are expected to spend big in the winter market with a striker being high on Rafa Benitez's priority list. Fotomac, a Turkish tabloid has reported that Newcastle United want Garry Rodrigues in January. The Cape Verde international has not been a regular for Galatasaray this season and is open for a move to the Premier League.
