La Liga

Barcelona set to beat rivals to signature of French wonderkid

Barcelona are reportedly the front-runners to land Marseille's 19-year-old midfield sensation Maxime Lopez. The likes of Manchester United, Real Madrid and Barcelona had scouted the Frenchman extensively last season. But Mundo Deportivo has now reported that the Catalans have already gotten in touch with the player's agent, with a deal being prepared for the next summer. The Spanish tabloid has also said that Lopez has a huge admirer in the form of Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane. Lopez is under contract with Marseille till 2021 and will command a huge fee.

Meanwhile, the Catalans are also close to offloading Andre Gomes in January

After enquiring about the much-maligned midfielder, Andre Gomes this past summer, Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keen on taking the Portuguese man on board in January. Daily Mirror understands that Mauricio Pochettino is ready to take a risk on Gomes who failed to answer his critics after securing a big money move to Barcelona. West Ham United were also interested in the midfielder but chose to end their pursuit soon enough.

According to Gazzetta Dello Sport, Inter Milan are planning to make a bid for Paris Saint-Germain's out of favour forward, Lucas Moura. Since the arrival of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe and the existing presence of Angel Di Maria and Julian Draxler, Moura has found it tough to get minutes under his belt. PSG are looking to cut their losses and might agree to sell the Brazilian in a cut price deal.

Juventus serious about Leon Goretzka

The Italian champions are planning to reunite Leon Goretzka with his former club captain, Benedikt Howedes in Turin. Howedes joined Juventus as Leonardo Bonucci's replacement on a season long loan deal but has a clause to make the move permanent next year. Meanwhile, Goretzka will be a free agent next summer with Juventus keeping close tabs on the midfielder. Goretzka is being seen as a plan B for the Bianconeri if they miss out on Liverpool's Emre Can.

The Mirror claims that all is not well in Munich with the German looking at all his options. Muller might look to leave Germany by January itself. Chelsea and Arsenal remain interested, with Liverpool also staying in the hunt for one of the best players in the Bundesliga.

Stoke City tried to sign Yevhen Konoplyanka this summer

Ukrainian winger, Yevhen Konoplyanka has revealed that the Potters were interested in doing business with Schalke in order to secure his services. Mark Hughes, the Stoke manager has long been an admirer of Konoplyanka with the manager looking to sign him ever since 2015. The Sentinel reports that Stoke made a substantial bid for the winger but the player decided to stay with Schalke for at least another year.

The blue half of Manchester tried every possible trick in the book to sign Alexis Sanchez this past summer but to no avail. But the Citizens are considering coming back with a bid for the Chilean in January with Daily Mail claiming that the City boardroom are planning to rub salt into Arsenal's wounds by making a £20 million bid for the attacker. Sanchez has refused to sign an extension with the club and will leave London on a Bosman transfer next summer.

Arsene Wenger reveals he almost signed Kylian Mbappe

One of the most sought-after players in world football, Kylian Mbappe, recently revealed that he was in talks with Arsenal over a potential move. Shedding more light on the topic, Wenger today said, "Well, I believe that we were on the case last year. He was close to joining us, maybe closer last year than this year because the competition was a bit smaller than it is today."

Everton interested in Ivan Marcano

The Daily Mail has claimed that the Toffees are looking at onboarding Porto's defender, Ivan Marcano in January. The 30-year-old will be a free agent at the end of the season and hence the Everton hierarchy feel that Porto will be ready to sell the defender at an affordable price. Meanwhile, Marcano has not been offered a new contract from Porto.
