Video: Klopp looks ahead to Freiburg clash

Bundesliga 1 leaders Borussia Dortmund trained on Thursday, ahead of their meeting with struggling Freiburg on Saturday.

After a defeat against Napoli in the Champions League – then the loss of their 100 per cent Bundesliga record after drawing with FC Nuremberg on Saturday – Last week wasn’t the best week for Borussia Dortmund.

This week has not started promisingly either – Juergen Klopp’s men struggled to defeat Bundesliga 2 side Munich 1860 – needing extra time in the second round of the German Cup to go through.

They’ll be hoping for a dramatic improvement this weekend, when they play host to winless Freiburg.

Despite their winless season so far, Manager Juergen Klopp says his Dortmund side will not be taking their opponents lightly.

Juergen Klopp, Borussia Dortmund coach: “Freiburg is the next opponent on the way to reach our aims in the Bundesliga. They are simply much stronger than their current placing in the table actually shows. And we will see how they will deal with their strain. It will be all about how to immerse oneself into a game like this – independent of the games that will come afterwards.”

Dortmund have never lost at home to Freiburg and will be looking to return to winning ways in the Bundesliga.
