Liverpool were on the verge of exit from the 2004-05 Champions League when they were leading 2-1 against Olympiakos. But Steven Gerrard scored a stunning goal from 25 yards in the 86th minute to ensure Liverpool’s qualification to the group stage. Liverpool eventually went on to win the cup when they defeated AC Milan in what is considered to be one of the best Champions League finals of all time.
