Arsenal star Theo Walcott says that he is determined to end Arsenal’s trophy drought next season. The 24-year-old winger believes the Gunners can be serious contenders for the league title in the coming season.

The England international had a superb season this year and scored 21 goals for the Gunners. He said: “Challenging for the title is our next goal. A lot of people thought we wouldn’t do it today so it’s nice to show them that we could do it.

“We weren’t aware of the Spurs result and we knew what we had to do – it was in our hands and we did the job.”

After losing to North London rivals Tottenham in March, Arsenal were seven points behind Spurs. Many critics had written them off and Walcott admitted that the players wanted to prove their doubters wrong.
