The 1992 Masters Champion Fred Couples made a tremendous start to the Masters 2023 Round 1. As Couples made an under-par start at Augusta National Golf Club, the PGA and Masters official Twitter handle shared a post to congratulate the former champion. The re-quoted tweet from 2014 made fans jump in to share their response to Couples' marvelous start. One of them wrote:

The 63-year-old former no. 1 golfer Couples hit an under-par shot in Round 1 of the Masters 2023. The PGA Tour's Twitter handle re-quoted one of their own tweets from 2014 and wrote:

"Bump"

The PGA Tour tweeted about Fred Couples' solid start back in 2014, saying:

"Hey, everyone: Fred Couples is on the first page of the #Masters leaderboard. (Save this tweet so you can use it again next year.)"

Fred Couples' fans were excited to see him get a good start on Thursday. They sent in their best wishes for the two-time Players Championship winner:

"Fred might have Father Time dormie"
"This is very cool."
"This is amazing."

Even the Masters' official Twitter handle also shared praise for Fred Couples hitting an under-par.

Couples is paired with Russell Henley and Alex Noren. They played Round 1 on Thursday, April 6, and are currently slated to tee off in Round 2 on Friday, April 7.
