ONE Championship lightweight Muay Thai star Sinsamut Klinmee of Thailand was hardly surprised when former two-sport king 'The Immortal' Regian Eersel recently lost his kickboxing crown earlier this month.
In fact, the 28-year-old Venum Training Camp product says no one can be a champion forever. According to Sinsamut, in this game, you win some and you lose some.
Eersel surrendered his ONE lightweight kickboxing world title to streaking Frenchman 'Barboza' Alexis Nicolas at ONE Fight Night 21 on Prime Video earlier this month, losing by unanimous decision after five tough rounds.
Speaking to Sportskeeda MMA in an exclusive interview, Sinsamut shared his thoughts on Eersel's performance.
The 28-year-old Thai fighter said:
"It wasn't surprising. [Regian Eersel's] opponent was ready to take on the fight. His distancing was right. His timing was good. It's impossible for anyone to be on a winning streak forever. The fight was great."
Regardless of Eersel's defeat, Sinsamut still craves a rematch with the former two-sport king and says if he wins in his next fight, he will come after 'The Immortal'.
