'Blessed' recently shocked the MMA community after earning a spectacular last-second knockout win over Justin Gaethje to win the 'BMF' title at UFC 300. The knockout immediately went viral and resulted in him being linked to title fights at both featherweight and lightweight.

During his appearance on Joe Rogan's JRE MMA Show, the 'BMF' title holder opened up about the perception that fans had about him due to his most recent loss to Alexander Volkanovski. He mentioned that it is difficult to get to look past a previous loss despite the success in the bouts that follow. Holloway said:

"You have a bad fight like with Alex [Volkanovski], that fight don't get erased off until I have something great. Even if you have a good fight...I had a knockout over 'Korean Zombie' and they're [fans] are like, 'Yeah, well 'Korean [Zombie]' is old]'...and then finally now with this Justin [Gaethje knockout], now everybody forgets. It takes us a while to make them forget about your last fight." [26:39 - 27:02]
