MotoGP San Marino 2011: Spanish Riders win in all 3 categories

It was excellent day at the race track in San Marino for Spanish riders as they emerged winners in all three categories. Reigning world champion Jorge Lorenzo put in a great performance and won the MotoGP race, thus cutting back a few points in the World Championship table against Australian Casey Stoner.

The hard work from the Yamaha team to find extra power showed today in how Lorenzo’s bike was. Spain’s Dani Pedrosa came second after overtaking tired teammate Casey Stoner. Stoner revealed in the post match interview that he had not fully recovered from his tiredness and that affected him in the race today. The Aussie still has a comfortable cushion in the World Championship points table and looks the hot favourite to win the title with 5 races remaining. Lorenzo, though, will take things race by race as anything is still possible.

An exhibition of gritty riding by the 18 year old has GP team Honda seriously considering the youngster for the following season. The next 5 races promise to be exciting as Marquez has the World Championship in his sights.
