Ciara revealed that Russell Wilson insisted on waiting till getting married before mingling in bed

Russell Wilson and Ciara are a prime example of a successful and powerful celebrity couple. Both of them have managed to build a life together, while also making sure to succeed individually and grow their careers. However, they had a rather unconventional start to their relationship.

Together since 2015, Wilson and Ciara abstained from having sex before their marriage. It was a difficult step for the couple but it did help bring them closer.

In a 2017 interview with Cosmopolitan South Africa (via People), Ciara spoke about the thought that went into the decision. Apparently, it was the Denver Broncos QB who insisted upon the same.

"I have to give credit to my husband for sharing those views. It's awesome how it all worked out. We women think with our hearts and with our minds. When we see a guy, we envision what he's like and whether this could be something special."

She continued:

"Guys see us from an exterior point of view — that's something I learned along the way as a woman… You shouldn't feel like you have to give your body away to get someone to like you."

Furthermore, the Butter Thangs singer added that when the focus is on a friendship, it leads to forming a better relationship later. Once a couple is bonded by friendship, they end up sharing values and an outlook to life.

"Denver's amazing. The altitude is a beast. Walking up three - just like one flight of stairs, I'm like, 'Okay, I need some water. I need to take a deep breath. I got to come back. Alright, I'm back'. I mean, it's really something and you feel it, but it's been incredible."

Furthermore, the singer referred to the fans, the city, and the food as amazing. Ciara continued to add that she was happy, and so were her children.

Of course, fans have continued to make connections between Ciara and her ex, Future. Wilson and the 37-year-old singer barely commented on their past lives, happily focusing on their family.
