George Kittle not a big fan of The Miz's 'Hollywood guy' persona - "Needs to be put in his place"

George Kittle talks down on WWE star The Miz

San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle is a die-hard professional wrestling fan, it would appear.

Kittle had the thrill of his life when he got involved in the WWE. It’s not just any event, though, because he had his moment at Wrestlemania 39. The three-time All-Pro helped Pat McAfee win his match against The Miz by laying a clothesline on the former reality television star.

But that moment wouldn’t have happened if the two-time WWE Champion did not taunt Kittle, who was enjoying the show at ringside.

After being pushed by The Miz, the Iowa alumnus took off his jacket to reveal his Tight End University tank top. He then jumped over the barrier and pounded his chest before laying his foe with his muscular arm.

Even without that cheap shot, Kittle couldn’t stand The Miz, especially what he represents. The four-time Pro Bowler said in an interview after the match:

“I mean, he was asking for it, you know? I mean, he’s just a Hollywood guy, likes to wear sunglasses inside in the dark, I mean, that’s just what The Miz does. And he just needs to be put in his place sometimes, you know? I mean, he’s great on the mic but hey, those ‘little tiny balls’ need some help.”

When asked what that moment meant for him, Kittle felt that he was in a dream. He said:

“You know, sometimes I just pinch myself and ask if I’m dreaming. And I still think I’m dreaming, I mean, I’m at WrestleMania with Pat McAfee, beating The Miz? What else could I want to do tonight? You know?”

The 29-year-old tight end is showing signs of being a natural entertainer. Earlier this year, he sang his version of “My Life Would Suck” to singer and 2023 NFL Honors host Kelly Clarkson.

Kittle’s interpretation was a shoutout to his teammates Brock Purdy, Christian McCaffrey, and Nick Bosa.

George Kittle considering a wrestling career?

After kicking a** in professional wrestling’s biggest spectacle, NFL fans wondered if Kittle would wear wrestling boots after he retires from the league. The question was thrown at him by Rich Eisen Show producer and co-host T.J. Henderson. He did not close the window of opportunity by saying:

“Mr. H (WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H) has my phone number and that’s not a phone call I’ll ever ignore. So, I’m always open to participate in a fun, violent event.”

The 2023 NFL season will be Kittle’s seventh with the 49ers. He had 765 receiving yards and a career-high 11 touchdowns in 15 regular-season games last season. He is also under contract with San Francisco until 2025 as part of his five-year, $75 million contract.
